This June, Northeastern is thrilled to return to Mumbai, India for a 10-day pre-college program, hosted by the prestigious American School of Bombay from June 10-14 and June 17-21, 2024.

Northeastern University’s Accelerate Pre-College Programs are designed for talented high school students around the world who want to give themselves an edge by engaging in an immersive academic program led by university faculty. US-based programs are hosted each summer on two of Northeastern’s campuses, Boston, MA and Oakland, CA. Experiential Entrepreneurship, one of Accelerate’s flagship programs, will be offered again this summer at three global locations: Boston, Oakland, and Mumbai.

Program Information

Experiential Entrepreneurship

Experiential Entrepreneurship is a 10-day commuter program accepting applications from new grade 11 or 12 students from any school in Mumbai. Hosted by the American School of Bombay (Bandra-Kurla Complex Road, Bandra, Mumbai), students who participate in the program will meet daily from approximately 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on June 10-14 and June 17-21.

Program Description

Experiential Entrepreneurship is a summer program designed for future entrepreneurs who want to change the world with their ideas. In this program, students learn to be an entrepreneur by being an entrepreneur. They will form teams and build a startup from an idea to a pitch in front of a panel of entrepreneurs. Along the way, they will have access to industry professionals who will provide guidance on topics such as finding and growing an audience, business planning, product development, negotiation, pitch presentations, and more. This opportunity to go from an idea to a pitch for high school students is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Learning Outcomes

Entrepreneurial Mindset 

Learn to think and do like an entrepreneur by practicing skills like empathy, identifying your passions, and failing and trying again.  

Explore Creativity and Innovation 

Students will learn how to view the customer engagement experience from the perspective of their target market in order to build a strong brand. Activities will develop the key abilities of critical thinking and creative thinking as students create a go-to-market strategy for a venture regardless of whether that venture’s setting is a high growth start-up, a social enterprise, or a larger well-established company. 

Interpersonal Skills 

Learn and practice communicating your ideas with confidence. 

Team Development 

Learn and build skills in understanding different points of view, negotiation, and conflict resolution. 

Systems Thinking

Learn and use systems thinking skills to identify relationships, impact of change (positive and negative), and feedback loops. 

Faculty

Leading the Experiential Entrepreneurship program is Professor K. Srikrishna.  Srikrishna is a serial entrepreneur, mentor, former angel investor, and faculty member of Northeastern University.  Professor Srikrishna led this program in Summer 2023 and is looking forward to returning to the American School of Bombay to work with a new group of students!

Over the last 20 years he’s been a C-level executive with a proven track record of cross-border company building, revenue generation, business development, & product marketing. He has a Ph.D. and MS from University of California at Berkeley and a BTech from Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.  Srikrishna’s current focus is on mentoring entrepreneurs and CEOs of companies seeking growth with an emphasis on marketing, leadership, and strategy. He’s on the board of advisors of several technology startups. As the father of two young women, he hopes to see more women in tech & entrepreneurship. How to Apply

We are looking for talented, highly motivated students who are passionate about entrepreneurship, and who are ready for a rigorous program.  

Application requirements include:  

  • Completed Application
  • Transcript: An unofficial high school transcript or report cards  
  • Personal statement: a short statement (maximum of 250 words) describing your passion for the subject matter, your motivation for enrolling in the program, and what you hope to gain from the experience    

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, students must be new Grade 11 or Grade 12 students enrolled in any high school in Mumbai or surrounding areas. Please note that students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the American School of Bombay.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: March 15
  • Application Decision Release via Email: By April 1
  • Application Deposit Deadline: April 15 at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • Final Tuition Deadline: May 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Please note: admitted students will receive more information in their admit email regarding tuition, deposit, final payment, and required paperwork.

Program Tuition

The program tuition is $1,822 USD (approximately INR 150,000). This includes: program tuition, course materials, and lunch daily. A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total tuition due will be required to secure a space in the program for admitted students.
